From the Pastor
August 27, 2010
Let me draw your attendtion to these words that God spoke to us: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10).
He gave us these words, yet we still get unnerved and shaken in life. It seems a little strange to know God is with us and to also fear or question parts of life. This problem is nothing new. The Israelites were scared of Pharaoh's advancing army and they complained bitterly along the difficult wilderness journey. They did this while God's was visibly showing Himself to them in the pillar of cloud and fire. As believers today, the Holy Spirit is residing inside of us letting us know of His presence. We should not despair, yet we still do.
The key to providing stability in your life through both the good and the bad "stuff" is faith--trust! As little as children may be, they quickly learn to show their independence and do things on their own--even refusing help or to hold the hand of a parent. The parent is close, but the child is not trusting of the help available unless he takes advantage of it as a viable resource. I hope you are trusting the Lord today for the needs of your life. God does not desire for you to fear or to be at a loss in life. If you have faith in Him He will strengthen and uphold you!
In Him,
